The door has an impressive arrangement of 15, true-divided windows with old, beveled glass. This door was originally part of a set of double doors. It has an mortise for a strike plate. No mortises were made for a lock set. The height of the door was unevenly cut by 1/4″. The cuts were most likely made to compensate for a warped floor or sagging foundation. We could cut the door to an even height/width, build it up to be taller/wider, and/or cut it to be narrower/shorter–message us for a quote. The door is strong, sturdy and in great structural condition. It has the typical scrapes, scratches, and small nail holes that you would expect to find on an old, used door. eBay Penn Antique Restoration 30″x76″ Antique French Door 15 Windows w/ Beveled Glass Beautiful, antique, French door salvaged from an old home in Northeastern, PA. The door is made of solid Douglas fir or pine and is stained on both sides. When most people hear “pine” they think of a cheap, weak, soft wood. New pine hewn from 10 – 20 year old trees don’t have the same insect-resistant, rot-resistant, or even fire-resistant qualities that old pine, hewn from trees hundreds of years old have. Old pine is also much harder and stronger than young pine. The door has an impressive arrangement of 15, true-divided windows with old, beveled glass. Hardware: The door comes equipped with its original strike plate. If you would like to outfit the door with more hardware, we have a good selection of period hardware (check out our eBay store). * If you would like any of the hardware holes plugged with solid wood, please email us for a quote. Quirks & Considerations: This door was originally part of a set of double doors. It has an mortise for a strike plate. No mortises were made for a lock set. Condition: The door is strong, sturdy and in great structural condition. It has the typical scrapes, scratches, and small nail holes that you would expect to find on an old, used door. However, there are no serious breaks, cracks, gouges, rot, or warp. The worst damage is a small break in the top corner of the interior side of the lock-stile. (see last photo). The small blemishes they have will disappear or diminish drastically after stripping and sanding. All of the glass is intact and also in great condition with only subtle scratches. Swing: The door is set up to swing into a room towards the left and away from a room towards the right. We could modify the door to swing in the opposite direction–message us for a quote.
