Up for sale on this auction… 1876 MASTERPIECES OF THE CENTENNIAL EXHIBITION 3 VOLUMES ENGRAVINGS… Three volumes of engravings and text covering the Centennial International Exhibition in Philadelphia. Volume I cover has detached. Other two volumes are in good condition with some minor issues on the exteriors: edges are scuffed with some loss of color especially to the corners. Speckling to the publisher’s boards. Some scuffing and color loss to the heads and tails of each volume. Gorgeous gilt lettering and vignettes in the heavily ridged and banded spines; each band has a different little picture or symbol that represents what’s inside. Each volume has multiple engravings, sometimes several on the same page. The art volume (volume one) has several double page engravings from various artists and countries. This volume has the detached cover. The others have full page engravings and in-text (as does the volume one). All are in very good condition, except noted issue with the cover of volume I. There is a tissue overlay in one volume with shading from the Frontispiece. Please see photos and do not hesitate to email with questions or for more pictures.
