eBay Description This wonderful mantel was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It is made of mixed woods and is painted. The shelf steps out at the ends with carved capitals below. Below the capitals are wonderful carved pilasters with greek nudes, cornucopias and carved angel heads with wings. The breast has large carved fruit and swags from end to end. All the carvings are done in oak but everything else is pine. The sides wrap around the chimney with flat recessed panels. It measures 66 inches wide, 47.75 tall, and is 15.5 inches deep. The firebox opening is 49 inches wide by 37.25 tall. Overall, it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches, light cracks and dings as it is antique. It is disassembled, 2 legs, shelf with breast and a trim piece. There is a missing molding below the carving on the breast, a plain p trim piece and on the right side return there is a missing piece of flat trim at the top. We stripped a couple small sections to show better detail. It could use a good cleaning. Please look at the pictures carefully.
