eBay For sale a refurbished Becker Grand Prix Mono with external amplifier. This was top of the line Becker in the 1967-1969 and one of the favorite W113 OEM radios. Grand Prix line always had the Wunderbar which is an auto-seek station. In 1960’s/early 1970’s this was an electro-mechanical assembly ; an entire clock mechanism; they did not had the circuits we have today. Definitely a conversation starter. Based on the knobs and display marking (BC vs AM) this was intended for the European market. For 230SL – you need the narrow trim radio; this one does not fit; send me a message for those models.All other vehicles look at the dashboard cut-out dimensions. Very nice design with stripes face plate and chrome accents. About Bluetooth on this Becker (not included in the sale): The designers of the time did not had an idea about Bluetooth but they were smart enough to provide a DIN plug on the back for Input/Output of the audio signal. This particular radio was refurbished as follows: Bulb replaced Electrolytic capacitors replaced. This is a known failure mode due to age Mechanisms adjusted and Oiled Potentiometer cleaned Contacts cleaned Interior cleaned Tune needle indicator was (re)painted in original color Functionality: Radio functions as it should on AM and FM. On the other bands there is white noise but no stations. Beautiful sound on FM. On AM there are only few stations left and signal is drowned in noise Mechanical radio station memory ( push/pull buttons ) works as intended Wunderbar – works decent but not perfect. Price reflects this condition. Aspect: New faceplate – reproduction Original knobs Original tone levers New chrome trim – reproduction Original name plate Included in the sale: Radio Grand Prix Amplifier 30 day functional warranty. For aspect please look at the pics. Buyers Remorse… you can return it for any reason within 30 days for a 20% (out of total cost, incl shipping) as restocking fee.
