Non-pickup specification This is the 1960s J-45 Original from the “Original Collection” that was newly added to the lineup in 2020. Made in Montana, USA. This model inherits the popular 1960s series, with a cool ebony-colored body and a thick white large pickguard with Gibson hot stamping. The body is all solid wood, with a Sitka spruce top and mahogany sides/back, the standard J-45 specs. It has scalloped X-bracing and a double-ring rosette. The Gibson scale mahogany neck has an adjustable saddle and a slightly thinner round profile than the 50s Original, with a nut width of 1.69″ (42.8mm). The pegs are 3-row Kluson type, and the pickup is not installed. The nitrocellulose lacquer finish (gloss) and the dovetail neck joint with glue are familiar specifications.
