For sale is this CBS Scientific (Fisher) Optimizer PCR workstation in open box condition, never used! It’s 31″ wide and includes florescent and UV light, which can be toggled and timed. What I love is that it’s simultaneously durable and light. It’s made of 1/4″ thick acrylic. It also has an outlet inside the unit to power any equipment within while keeping an air-tight seal. This PCR enclosure was tested to specifications. UV, fluorescent lights & timer all working. This unit has slight wear from normal use. Buyer can expect the same item pictured with 30-day warranty. Prior UV irradiation protects against cross or airborne contamination in DNA sequencing and limits exposure to open-lab environment Ample interior work space for PCR reaction supplies and equipment Stainless-steel work surface and ceiling angle reflector for UV reflection Hinged safety glass door for easy access and cleaning The Optimizer PCR Workstation is designed to protect against contamination in sensitive PCR amplification reactions in two ways. Firstly, UV irradiation of the working area prior to use blocks replication of contaminating DNA sequences by causing adjacent pyrimidines to undergo dimerisation. Secondly, it protects against cross or airborne contamination by limiting exposure of the experimental set-up to the open laboratory environment. Available in three sizes, each with plenty of interior space for PCR reaction supplies and thermal cycler. A single electrical outlet and two fluorescent lamps are mounted in the stainless steel ceiling. Each workstation is equipped with a 12-hour countdown timer with time-hold position.
