The difference between the two types of fabric is basically the “look”. By appearance, cotton is flat and rayon is a little shiny. Kind of like the appearance of paint—flat paint is dull (cotton) in appearance and semi-gloss (rayon) has a little shinier appearance. Rayon is an imitation of silk (because silk is expensive) and cotton is cotton.
