It has a true 4 channel amplifier built in. Each channel has independent volume controls allowing you to connect speakers in up to 4 different rooms. You can easily add on a wall volume controller if you want to control the volume from each room. Each channel/zone is 4-8 ohm stable which means you can connect (2) 8 ohm speakers in parallel on each channel which would allow you to connect up to 8 speakers (2 per zone). Stereo/Mono This has a stereo/mono switch which just means that if you connect 2 channels into a single zone you can get stereo separation of left and right channels. This receiver supports 4 mono zones or 2 stereo zones. High power When you pick this receiver up you can feel how heavy it is. It has a thick metal chassis to protect the internal amplifier. The amplifier puts out 250 watts RMS and 1,000 watts of peak power. All 4 zones have independent amplifiers that will easily power 1-2 speakers. Playback options The RPA40BT has a high quality Bluetooth chip with a 35 foot range. It also has an RCA input to connect any audio device as well as an optical input to connect your television. The RCA output allows you to expand your system and add a powered subwoofer or another amplifier.
