The Rolleiflex twin lens reflex is the standard to which all other TLRs are compared. First introduced in 1928, it stayed in production with various changes and improvements until the 2.8 GX in 1972. This is a Rolleiflex 3.5 M-X EVS type 1. Its serial number dates it to 1951 or 1952. The camera is in Excellent cosmetic and operating condition. All its functions work properly. It has the feeler roller to let the film wind to frame one without a red window or arrows to match. The glass is clear, free of fungus haze or oil. There are small signs of wear on the leather in places as well as by the “X” synch mark on the bottom right front. Most Rolleis have had significant use. This is one of the better examples I have owned. The case which is included is in rather poor condition. There is significant wear and the stitching needs repair. I am selling the cameras and photo equipment I have collected over the past fifty years. They have not been film tested but appear to function correctly (film winds on, shutter fires, f/stops change, focus works). Shutter speeds sound approximately correct to my ear but speeds have not been electronically tested. I have disclosed any problems that I am aware of and have tried to act like a fussy sharp-eyed buyer in evaluating the cameras and lenses. The items have been stored in an air-conditioned non-smoking home. Remember that many of these items are classics, over forty years old, and inevitably will show some wear and signs of age.
