The resulting release, “Signal Your Intention,” topped the UK Hi-NRG charts and impressed Motown fans in the US and Europe. Weston eventually brought other former Motown acts to the label, including Mary Wells, the Velvelettes, Mary Wilson of the Supremes and Marv Johnson. By 1989, more than 60 former Motown artists joined ranks including hit songwriters Ivy Jo Hunter, Sylvia Moy and Johnny Bristol. By 1991, there were over 100 artists on the label.
